Can I use a Blackberry with wifi and my home DSL to occasionally use the internet?
PDAs & Handhelds Komentarze (2) »I never ever use the internet with my current phone. I don’t have a data package and don’t want one. I would like to buy a REFURBISHED Blackberry, but want to know could I occasionally use it with my DSL at home if I wanted to. I would really like to have a PDA/phone, is it worthwhile if I don’t use the internet features, email, texting, etc?
What is a quality Blackberry at AT&T that works best for simply talking?
PDAs & Handhelds Komentarze (5) »I just want a Blackberry that also works well for talking on the phone. I don’t care about anything except calls and e-mails. So many cell phones have all kinds of worthless features, and then they sound like crap. I don’t care if it has Lora Croft’s Tomb Raider, I just want to be able to make clear calls without standing on the roof of a building. Any suggestions? It has to be AT&T?
Is there a way to store documents on the Blackberry 8830 without additional software?
Software Komentarze (1) »I know I can open attachments and read documents. But is there any way to file those documents (Word or Excel) on the Blackberry for easy retrieval later (I know I can file them in e-mail folders but I am looking for some kind of document folder instead). Is there such a function on the Blackberry 8830? (I also know there is software that will do this but I wanted to see if the native phone has this function at all)
Is the function of polling by Blackberry seperately chargeable to the user?
PDAs & Handhelds Komentarze (2) »Since the Blackberry, like every cell type of device polls. The polling that takes place is a “keep-alive” type of data packet. The purpose is to let the network know where the phone is located physically on the network at any given time. As a user moves from place to place the cell towers keep a record of those movements so that when you want to make a call or send data of any type you will already be connected and ready go. This is how you get an “always on” connection. Is this function separately charged anywhere in the world?

On AT&T they can log onto the server using the Blackberry…I want to know if I will have the same capabilities on my Blackberry through Verizon?
