On the homescreen of my Blackberry there is a bright red hollow triangle at the top. It pops on and off all day. Sometimes it may stay on all day. As well the middle of the triangle turns red inside too. I do not understand what it means please help!

I got a blackberry pearl today that was previously owned and the old users info is stored in the phone. Usually I can figure these things right out but I cant. I just want to store the phone back to the factory settings to get his stuff out. He has seriously like 400 names in the address book and a bunch of stuff.
